Doctors in Training and Medical Students
The practice has been approved for the training of doctors in general practice. Drs Akester and Roberts usually have a registrar working with them. These doctors are fully qualified and in the final stage of training before entering a practice of their own. You may be asked permission for your consultations with the doctor to be video-taped for training purposes. At various times during the year for two week periods, a medical student from either St. Bartholomew's Hospital, Imperial College Hospital, London or Leeds University sits in on consultations and accompanies the doctors on their visits to patients.
It is recognised that patients may prefer not to be seen by a registrar or medical student. If this is the case please indicate your wishes to a member of the reception staff. If, however, you are prepared to allow the medical student or registrar to see you, this will be much appreciated.
